117 people nabbed at illegal party near Pudu


KUALA LUMPUR: Police have arrested 117 people at an illicit party here near Pudu.

Deputy Wangsa Maju OCPD Deputy Supt Muhammad Najib Hamzah said police raided the party at around 2am on Sunday.

“We were alerted about the party after an advertisement for it was being shared on social media.

“A team of a 135 police personnel raided an entertainment outlet at the corner off Jalan Metro Pudu and Jalan Metro Pudu 2,” he said on Tuesday.

He said police checked a total of 314 individuals including 66 women.

“Eighty-six men and 29 women tested positive for drugs and were arrested.

“We also arrested a man who had the digits 08 tattooed on his left shoulder,” he said, adding that those arrested were aged between 20 and 30.

He added that the man with the tattoo has been remanded for one day while the others were remanded for four days.

“We also arrested a 27-year-old woman at the event, believed to be the organiser,” he said, adding that investigations showed that there was a cover charge of between RM30 and RM40 for people to enter the party.

He said further investigations revealed the organiser paid RM12,000 to rent the venue for the party.
