Indon vessel believed to be capsized, 12 crewmembers on board

KOTA TINGGI: An Indonesian merchant vessel with 12 foreign crewmembers is believed to have capsized in the waters off Tanjung Pengelih here.

Most of the crewmembers were Indonesian and Myanmar nationals.

A search and rescue is underway, and at press time, no details are available on whether anyone had been rescued or what caused the boat to capsize.

Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (MMEA) is expected to have a press conference on the matter soon.
