MMEA foils smuggling bid, seizes RM150,000 of drugs

Under arrest: Canadian police have arrested two men and are seeking two others for exporting controlled goods and technologies intended for space satellite use to China in violation of export and defense laws.

BATU PAHAT: The Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (MMEA) stopped an attempt to smuggle in drugs worth RM150,000 in waters off Tanjung Tohor near here.

Batu Pahat MMEA zone director commander (maritime) Mohamad Othman said the incident occured at about 12.10am on Sunday (Jan 27) when an MMEA boat was patrolling the water from Batu Pahat to Muar.
