PETALING JAYA: Criminalising stalking will address a critical gap in Malaysia’s legal system as it will have the potential to protect countless domestic violence victims, says the Women’s Aid Organisation (WAO).
Its executive director Sumitra Visvanathan said it welcomes the government’s proposal to criminalise stalking, adding the government should make stalking a crime under the Penal Code and introduce a restraining order against stalkers in the Criminal Procedure Code.
