PETALING JAYA: Barisan Nasional's candidate for the Cameron Highlands polls, Ramli Mohd Nor, voiced his support against the abolition of the death penalty in a petition on Friday (Jan 25).

In a Facebook video shared by MCA president Datuk Seri Wee Ka Siong, Ramli took a moment off from campaigning to sign the party's petition.

The former senior police officer was accompanied by MCA deputy president Datuk Dr Mah Hang Soon and Youth chairman Nicole Wong Siaw Ting.

The trio shared a light moment, where Ramli surprised Dr Mah and Wong with a few words of Mandarin.

"In my principle, I disagree to it (the abolition of death penalty)," Ramli said, while signing the petition.

On Facebook, Dr Wee said Ramli has taken practical steps to protest against the abolition.
