SIBU: Another parent lodges police report claiming her son was physically abused by an illegal babysitter in Permai Jaya.
Sibu OCPD ACP Stanley Jonathan Ringgit said the police have received another report lodged by the mother of a one-year-old boy.
ACP Stanley said the 40-year-old mother filed her report on Tuesday (Jan 22) after reading an article on the death of a nine-month-old boy.
The 39-year-old babysitter was earlier alleged to have caused the death of nine-month old Aariz Harraz Zahim Azman, who died on Jan 16 at the Intensive Care Unit of Sibu Hospital from serious head injuries.
The Magistrate's Court on Tuesday (Jan 22) extended her remand by another seven days under Section 302 of the Penal Code.
On the one-year-old boy, ACP Stanley said the babysitter had told the boy's mother on Aug 15 last year that that the boy had tripped and fell down while taking a bath.
"She later found that her son was weak and crying. When she tried to feed him with milk, he vomited. She then found bruises on the right side of his head," he added.
ACP Stanley said that Sibu Hospital doctors found that the boy had suffered a right parietal skull fracture, traumatic brain injury and a subdural haemorrhage.
He said before the case of the nine-month old boy, the police had received a report made by a 25-year-old teacher on Oct 17 last year who claimed that the suspect had abused her one-year-old daughter.
She had found bruises on her daughter's face and right lip including a cut on her mouth
ACP Stanley said the woman and her daughter had moved to Selangor where her husband is working as an engineer.
He added that the police have contacted the woman on Jan 22, asking her whether she wants to pursue with her case.
"She has yet to decide whether she wants further investigation on her case," he added.
