Bangladeshi worker found hanged at construction site


GEORGE TOWN: A Bangladeshi construction worker, believed to have broken off with his girlfriend, was found dead at a construction site in Tanjung Tokong here.

Mohammad Billal Molla, 36, was found hanging from a beam at around 1pm on Monday (Jan 21).

George Town OCPD Asst Comm Che Zaimani Che Awang said initial investigation showed that there was no foul play.

“The deceased was believed to have been in love with an lndonesian girl, whom he had broken up with recently,” he said.

ACP Che Zaimani said the man had told a friend that he was heartbroken after finding out that his girlfriend had found a new boyfriend.

“The man told his friend that he had met up with his girlfriend and found out that she had a new boyfriend.

“He also said he was frustrated as he had spent a lot of money on the woman," ACP Che Zaimani added.

Mohammad Billal’s body was sent to Penang Hospital for a post-mortem.
