Religious school warden remanded over sexual assault of boy, 13

MELAKA: A religious school warden from Pulau Sebang here has been remanded over the alleged sexual assault of a 13-year-old boy.

The 40-year-old man was detained at his home in Alor Gajah following a police report lodged by the victim, who lives in the school hostel.

The report was made at the Pulau Sebang police station at 2pm on Saturday (Jan 19).

In his report, the boy claimed the man had allegedly kissed him and forced to him perform oral sex as well as watch a pornographic video.

The boy claimed he has been subjected to such acts on three occasions since Jan 1.

Melaka CID chief Asst Comm Mohd Nor Yhazid said investigations are ongoing under Section 14(a) of the Sexual Offence Against Children Act 2017 and Section 377B for committing carnal intercourse against the order of nature.
