Knife found, six people arrested so far in murder of businessman


KUCHING: Police have recovered a knife believed to have been used in the murder of a man, whose body was found in an abandoned house here.

Criminal Investigation Department (CID) personnel and a forensics team from state police headquarters found the weapon behind a shoplot at Jalan Sekama here at about 10.30am on Friday (Jan 18).

A suspect was arrested on Wednesday (Jan 16) and brought police to the location.

State CID head SAC Denis Leong said six people had been arrested so far in connection with the case, which was being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code.

The victim was identified as 37-year-old businessman Tang Tung Kuok.

His body was found by a member of the public at about 10am on Tuesday (Jan 15).
