Minister on fireproof suits: We’ll ask the supplier to step into the fire

Zuraida Kamaruddin said tha the regulations under the National Affordable Housing Policy was being fine-tuned to allow target groups to purchase homes at reasonable prices.

KUALA LUMPUR: The next time suppliers bid for a tender to supply fireproof suits to the Fire and Rescue Department, perhaps they should be prepared to step into the fire themselves.

When asked about a previous purchase of fireproof suits which were said to be unsafe, Housing and Local Government Minister Zuraida Kamaruddin said, “One of the criteria of the tender, I think I'll get the supplier to do the demo ... by getting get into the fire first”.
