Sultan Abdullah eligible to be elected next King

PEKAN (Bernama): Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah Ibni Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah Al-Musta'in Billah (pic) ascended the Pahang throne on Tuesday (Jan 15), making His Royal Highness eligible to be elected as the next Yang di-Pertuan Agong going by the rotational system of election practised by the nine Malay Rulers.

The sixth Sultan of Pahang is the next in line to be the 16th Yang di-Pertuan Agong in accordance with the rotational list employed since independence in 1957, the order of which is as follows: Negri Sembilan, Selangor, Perlis, Terengganu, Kedah, Kelantan, Pahang, Johor and Perak.
