KUALA LUMPUR: Two friends have claimed trial to robbing a woman at a condominium car park two weeks ago.
Security guard Ainol Shafik Johar and store assistant Ahmad Farizal Ahmad Fuad are accused of committing gang robbery on Chou Lee Har, 40, causing the victim to lose her identity card, credit card, ATM card, driving licence, office access card, backpack, car keys, RM1,000 and a mobile phone.
The offence was allegedly committed in front of a lift at the car park of Kuchai Avenue Condominium, Kuchai Lama, at 5.10am on Jan 2.
The charge, under Section 395 of the Penal Code, carries a jail term of up to 20 years and whipping, upon conviction. Deputy public prosecutor Kamarul Aris Kamalluddin did not offer bail.
Lawyer Keshreena Kaur Sidhu, who represented Ahmad Farizal, 29, requested for bail, saying his client has to support his wife and three children.
Ainol Shafik, 23, who was unrepresented, told the court that he did not have a bailor because his family did not know of his arrest.
Sessions Court judge Emelia Kaswati Mohamad Khalid granted bail at RM6,000 in one surety each and fixed Jan 30 for mention.
