Former Negri Sembilan mentri besar Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan with a group of Malaysian students studying at various universities in Morocco in March 2010. The students were partially sponsored by the Negri Sembilan Islamic Affairs Council to pursue Islamic and Arabic studies in the kingdom.

AS the head of state, Yang di-Pertuan Besar of Negri Sembilan Tuanku Muhriz Tuanku Munawir is also the head of Islamic affairs.

The Ruler is usually advised by four influential chieftains – Undang of Sungei Ujong, Undang of Jelebu, Undang of Johol and Undang of Rembau – whenever he executes his official duties.
