Cops complete probe into death of firefighter Adib

KUALA LUMPUR (Bernama): The police have completed their investigation into the death of firefighter Muhammad Adib Mohd Kassim, who died after he was assaulted during the riots in the vicinity of a Hindu temple near Subang Jaya in November last year.

Deputy Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Noor Rashid Ibrahim said the investigation papers had been sent to the Deputy Public Prosecutor's office for further action.

Muhammad Adib, 24, was assaulted when he, as part of a a team of firemen, were dispatched to put out a car fire during the riots near the Seafield Sri Maha Mariamman Temple on Nov 26 last year.

He died on Dec 18. 2018 at the National Heart Institute (IJN) here.

Noor Rashid said it is learnt that the DPP had filed the case with the court.

"The prosecution will be initiated soon," he told a press conference after a forum on the abuse of children here on Thursday (Jan 10). – Bernama
