MELAKA: A payment booth was torched barely four days after privatised parking collection started at selected commercial areas, leading to the state government announcing an immediate halt to such fee collection.

The decision to freeze the collection came less than 24 hours after furious locals burned down the collection booth in Taman Nirwana early yesterday.
