GEORGE TOWN (Bernama): A Nepalese man was killed in a fall from the fourth floor of a flat building at Tingkat Mayang Pasir in Bayan Baru near here earlier Sunday (Dec 30).
Southwest district police chief Supt A. Anbalagan said the body of Bot Sandip, 24, who worked as a salesperson at a supermarket in Bukit Jambul near here, was found lying prone and bleeding at the parking lot at 5.20am.
“Based on the investigation, the victim visited a female friend's unit on the fourth floor of the flat at 2.30am. The woman claimed to have been friends with the man for eight months as they both working at the same place,” he said.
According to the woman, at 5am, her fiancé had turned up at her unit while the Nepalese man was still there.
“The Nepalese man was said to have been shocked by the presence of the woman's fiancé and was trying to escape through the kitchen door,” he said.
Anbalagan said the victim was believed to have tried to escape by opening the kitchen's sliding door but fell to his death instead.
He said the inspection carried out found no signs of scuffles and examination of the victim's body also found no criminal elements.
“The body was sent to the Balik Pulau Hospital for post-mortem and thus far the police classified the case as sudden death, but further investigations are still ongoing,” he said. - Bernama
