Sabah marine cops bust illegal cigs smuggling bid, seize items worth RM300,000

KUDAT: An attempt to smuggle in 5,480 illegal packets of cigarettes was quashed by the marine police here in an operation codenamed Op Landai Khas on Friday (Dec 28).

Marine Police Region 4 commander Asst Comm Mohamad Pajeri Ali said based on intelligence received from the marine investigation unit (URM), the raiding party stopped a white van in Kg. Kanibongan, Pitas, at around 5.45pm.
