Education Ministry: Screening to ensure six-year-olds ready for school

PUTRAJAYA (Bernama): The Education Ministry on Wednesday (Dec 26) said it was important to have a screening process to ensure six-year-olds were ready to start Standard One together with their peers.

It said the screening process would also ensure that the children were mentally ready for school and possessed the necessary reading capabilities typical of a child six years and above.
