Soldier detained for raping girlfriend

KOTA KINABALU: A soldier was detained on Saturday (Dec 22) for allegedly beating up and raping his girlfriend of four month in Lahad Datu.

The suspect, 24, who was based at a military camp in Sarawak, was said to have texted and asked the victim to meet him near her work place at a shopping mall in Kota Kinabalu, around 6.30pm on Dec 17 (Monday).
