Sabah IRB collects RM8.1mil from 148 taxpayers

The Inland Revenue Board of Malaysia's (IRB) newly-launched Monitoring Deliberate Tax Defaulters (MDTD) programme will track taxpayers identified as non-compliant.

KOTA KINABALU: Sabah has collected some RM8.1mil from 148 taxpayers through additional income tax and penalties as of Dec 20 following the voluntary tax disclosure programme introduced nationwide on Nov 3.

Inland Revenue Board (IRB) chief executive officer Datuk Seri Sabin Samitah said from this amount, about RM7.1mil from 78 people was collected at the IRB in Kota Kinabalu.
