JOHOR BARU: Investigations into the questionable transactions in Tabung Akuan Amanah Sumbangan Kuota Bumiputera Negeri Johor is in its early stages, said Johor Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission director Datuk Azmi Alias.

“We have received the report on the matter. We are gathering information. So, give us time to look into the matter thoroughly,” he said.

Azmi said it was also too early to know whether misconduct was committed by a previous Barisan Nasional government committee chairman “or someone higher up”.

“We just received the report on Dec 3,” he said after opening the MACC anti-corruption exhibition at Sutera Mall on Sunday.

Last week, a group of Pakatan Harapan assemblymen lodged a report with the MACC for alleged misuse of funds in Tabung Akuan Amanah Sumbangan Kuota Bumiputera Negeri Johor.
