Hotel guest picks fight with cops and firemen following noise complaint

KUALA LUMPUR: A noise complaint at a hotel here turned violent after a guest fought with police and firemen who were dispatched to the scene.

It is learnt that the management called in the police after the guest, who is believed to be Nigerian, was with his girlfriend and disturbing other guests at the hotel.

However, when the police team tried to sort out the situation, the suspect became aggressive and attempted to jump out the window, which prompted the police to call in the Fire and Rescue Department for assistance.

The suspect then threw an object made of glass at one of the firemen, injuring him at the forehead.

"A scuffle occurred when the police tried to apprehend the suspect. Two policemen were injured after they were punched by the suspect," said Dang Wangi OCPD Asst Comm Shaharuddin Abdullah.

He added that all injured personnel were in stable condition.
