IPOH: Perak Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Ahmad Faizal Azumu is willing to assist the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) in the investigation over the plot to topple him.
However, he doubt he would be able to help much in the probe.
“I have no problems if I am called. I am good with everyone,” he told reporters after opening a seminar for local councillors here.
Ahmad Faizal said he could only tell MACC what he knew, and what the media has informed him.
He was commenting on reports about Perak opposition leader Datuk Saarani Mohamad claiming that Perak DAP vice-chairman Dr Abdul Aziz Bari is out to topple the Mentri Besar.
On Wednesday (Dec 5), Abdul Aziz, who is also Tebing Tinggi assemblyman, had given his statements to MACC regarding the issue.
On Saarani’s claims that he had statuary declarations of the Umno assemblymen being approached by Abdul Aziz, Ahmad Faizal said anyone could come with such declarations.
“It is for Saarani to prove that was indeed Abdul Aziz who is behind the plot, because whatever the news is, we, the state government are still intact,” he added.
Ahmad Faizal, who is also the Perak Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia chairman, said he had no plans to submit a motion to Pakatan Harapan presidential council to deliberate on the allegations.
“I had said that since there is an allegation, maybe the council should investigate it,” he said.
Asked if Abdul Aziz had met him after the controversy, Ahmad Faizal said no.
“However, after the wrap-up of the state assembly sitting on Wednesday, we took photos and congratulated each other.
“All was good. I was happy,” he added.
