Students from the Melaka Polytechnic walked away with RM2,000 after winning the Chandra Bimbam dance competition organised by the Taj International College Hindu Students Association, Tamil Nesan reported.
The sixth edition of the annual event, held at the Perak RTM Hall in Ipoh, was launched by Batu Gajah MP Sivakumar Varatharaju Naidu.
Seberang Prai Polytechnic was second and Teluk Intan Sinar third.
Sivakumar also donated RM5,000 to the association.
Association adviser Gobi Naidu said funds raised through the event was given back to the community.

The 28-year-old man was caught after the shopkeeper became suspicious of the note.
Bystanders helped the shopkeeper to apprehend the man. The suspect was found with 11 more pieces in his pocket which he claimed were given to him.
Based on information given by the man, police raided a house and detained the mastermind of the operation.
