TENOM: The decomposed body of a woman was found entangled around a water pump structure at the Pagalan river near Melalap here, early Wednesday morning (Nov 28).
Acting district police chief Asst Supt Ahmad Razali Shaari said Tenom police rushed to the scene after receiving a call from a plantation worker alerting them to the gruesome discovery at around 7am.
“The naked body was found entangled around a water pump structure that belonged to the plantation company.
“Half her body had decomposed, and no identification documents were found on her. The only form of identification were the tattoos on both her arms and legs.
“We believe that she was in her 20s or 30s,” he said.

The body was recovered from the river with the help of the Fire and Rescue Department before being sent to Hospital Tenom for a post-mortem.
