KOTA KINABALU: A mandatory life sentence without parole for heinous crimes will be proposed to the government as it mulls a move to abolish the death penalty, says Law Minister Datuk V.K. Liew.
“I am proposing a mandatory imprisonment for life for those who have been convicted of heinous crimes without the possibility of parole,” he said amid a national discussion on whether the death penalty should be retained.
