SUBANG JAYA: Police were unable to take more drastic measures to quell rioters at the Sri Maha Mariamman Temple as it was a place of worship.
Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Mohamad Fuzi Harun said they did not use tear gas and water cannons as such methods were unsuitable when the area was considered sacred.
