Najib's lawyers question motive behind A-G's 1MDB audit tampering claims

PETALING JAYA: Former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak’s lawyers have questioned the motive behind Auditor-General Tan Sri Dr Madinah Mohamad's revelation that the original audit report on 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) had been altered.

In a statement issued by Messrs Shafee & Co, Najib’s lead defence lawyer Tan Sri Dr Muhammad Shafee Abdullah (pic) questioned why Madinah, by her own admission, released her statement on Sunday (Nov 25) morning after being told to do so following a briefing to the Cabinet on Friday (Nov 23).
