PETALING JAYA: The Malaysian government needs to take measures to make workplaces safe for women if it is serious about increasing the participation of women in the labour force.
United Nations Populations Fund representative for Malaysia and Thailand, Marcela Suazo said that the low participation of women in the workforce despite the high number of girls enrolled in tertiary institutions, was a clear signal that "something is not right".
