KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia sealed a spot in the knockout stages of the AFF Suzuki Cup after beating Myanmar 3-0 at the National Stadium in Bukit Jalil on Saturday (Nov 24).

The national team will now face the winners of Group B in a two-legged semi final.

Malaysia drew first blood when Norshahrul Idlan Talaha prodded in a loose ball from Mahamadou Suamareh audacious scissor kick in the 20th minute.

The Harimau Malaya piled on the misery for Myanmar when captain Mohd Zaquan Adha Abd Razak buried from the spot in the dying stages of the first half to give Malaysia a 2-0 lead.

Malaysia completed their rout after Zaquan added his second goal of the game after he headed a poor Myanmar clearance past their goalkeeper Kyaw Zien Hiet.
