KUALA LUMPUR: A soldier's young son fell to his death while playing at the barracks of an army camp in Setapak here on Monday (Nov 19).

Wangsa Maju OCPD Supt  Noor Azmi Yusoff said that the victim was believed to have fallen from the third floor.

"Preliminary investigations showed that the six-year-old victim had tried to grab a toy that was at the awning of the second floor.

"He climbed a wall but fell to the ground floor.

"He suffered grievous injuries to the head and was pronounced dead at Hospital Kuala Lumpur," Supt  Noor Azmi said when contacted.

He added that the boy's father initially rushed him to the camp's clinic before transferring him to the hospital.

A post-mortem was conducted and the report confirmed there was no foul play.

The case has been classified as sudden death.
