GEORGE TOWN: The Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) is not required for the construction of the Jalan Bukit Kukus paired roads project in Paya Terubong because it is considered a “collector road”.
In clarifying this, state executive councillor Jagdeep Singh Deo (PH-Datuk Keramat) said the exemption was granted by the Department of Environment (DoE) and not the state government as perceived.
