Announcement on a duty-free Pangkor lauded

Paradise island: Pangkor would be accorded duty-free status to realise its tourism potential.

IPOH: The Perak government welcomes the announcement to make Pangkor a duty-free island and believes that it will boost the island’s tourism industry.

State Tourism Committee chairman Tan Kar Hing said such status would certainly attract more tourists to the island especially since the industry in Pangkor has slowed down lately with hotels experiencing low occupancy rates.
