KOTA BARU: Kelantan's assemblymen across the political divide objected to the ratification of United Nation's International Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination (ICERD), on grounds that it contravened provisions in the Federal Constitution and posed a threat to the existence of many key political parties.
Deputy Mentri Besar Datuk Mohd Amar Nik Abdullah said the country belonged to the Malays, and they have a right to protect their rights as enshrined in the Federal Constitution.
