Keep calm, supporters urged

Lynas and US miner Molycorp Inc have had their production stalled by the challenges of running environmentally safe, complex chemical plants. ON top of that, prices of the products have, meanwhile, slumped after China's export curbs scared manufacturers who need the metals into finding ways to reduce their use.

KUANTAN: Save Malaysia, Stop Lynas (SMSL) chairman Tan Bun Teet has urged the anti-Lynas movement to keep its cool while the executive review committee conducts its evaluation of the rare earth producer’s operations.

Tan said the committee should be given the time and space to deliberate and come up with a decision on the Lynas Advanced Materials Plant’s (LAMP) operations in Gebeng here.
