Rafizi unofficially wins as PKR Pandan chief against Azmin ally

KUALA LUMPUR: Rafizi Ramli has won the post of PKR Pandan division chief, according to unofficial results.

He has managed to secure a total of 566 votes, against his contenders in a four-cornered fight.

His main contender, Lembah Jaya assemblyman Haniza Talha managed to secure 405 votes, followed by Nor Hayati Haron (353) and Mohd Shaukhi Mohamad Hashim (71).

Haniza, who is aligned to incumbent deputy president Datuk Seri Azmin Ali, is currently leading in the contest for the Wanita PKR chief position.

The focus in the final phase will certainly be centred on the contest for the deputy president's post between Azmin and Rafizi, who is the former Pandan Member of Parliament.

Selangor is said to be a stronghold for Azmin, the Economic Affairs Minister.

The voting was delayed by e-voting glitches, causing some tempers to flare at the Pandan PKR division polling centre.

A minor scuffle broke out between Kapar MP Datuk Abdullah Sani's wife Datin Faizah Ariffin and an unidentified supporter at the (Oct 28)

When approached, Faizah said it was "just gaduh gaduh manja" as she wanted to shoo away members who tried to create chaos and provocation.
