KOTA BARU: The state government is withdrawing a suit filed against Petronas and the federal government aimed at demanding petroleum royalty for the state.
Mentri Besar Datuk Ahmad Yakob said the state executive council agreed to withdraw the civil suit filed eight years ago, as Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad had given the assurance that petroleum royalty would be channelled directly to the state government despite being run by the opposition.
