PUTRAJAYA: Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak (pic) has left the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) headquarters after giving his statement.

The former prime minister left at 5pm. He came to the building at 1.55pm.

Meanwhile former treasury secretary-general Tan Sri Dr Mohd Irwan Serigar Abdullah, who came to MACC at 3.25pm, will be held overnight, sources confirmed.

The MACC has gotten approval from the Attorney-General's Chambers to charge Najib and Dr Mohd Irwan on Thursday (Oct 25).

In a statement, MACC said both would be charged in connection with several cases of criminal breach of trust involving money belonging to the Malaysian government.

Both Najib and Dr Mohd Irwan will be present at the Kuala Lumpur Sessions Court as 7.30am on Thursday to face the charges.

Separately, the MACC was also given the green light to charge former spy agency chief Datuk Hasanah Abdul Hamid, also for criminal breach of trust involving government's money.

She would also be charged on Thursday.
