SEREMBAN: Several Jelebu PKR division members want the party's election committee to include 315 votes that have been categorised as "spoilt" before a decision is made on whether members should re-vote.

Mohamed Zabidi Abdullah, who unofficially won the top post by three votes in a three-cornered fight on Saturday (Oct 20), said it would not be fair to members if the votes were not considered.

"The returning officer said the votes could not be counted under the e-voting system, due to server and Internet problems during the voting process.

"We hope the party will include the 315 votes before a decision is made to ask members to re-vote," he said when contacted.

Jelebu is the only one of eight divisions in Negri Sembilan, which had reported a glitch during the voting process.

The division has 3,439 registered members.

Due to this, the overall official result in the state has not been released.

Mohamed Zabidi also lodged a police report on the matter at the Kuala Klawang police station.

In Saturday's polls, Mohamed Zabidi obtained 178 votes, while Yusmazmi Ahmad Yusuf got 175 and Maslan Yusuf (69).

Mohamed Zabidi said he was prepared to accept the outcome of the result after the 315 votes were counted.
