Woman injured during robbery in Bangsar

KUALA LUMPUR: An Indian native suffered a cut to her neck during a robbery in Bangsar Baru.

The 29-year-old victim was walking home along Jalan Terasek 3 early Wednesday (Oct 17) with a friend when a man ran up to them.

"He grabbed the victim from behind and held a knife under her chin, which led to a cut. He then instructed the two to hand over their jewellery," said Brickfields OCPD Asst Comm Ruslan Khalid on Wednesday.

He said that as the victim was about to hand over her valuables, her friend grabbed the victim and ran away.

The suspect did not give chase and made his escape.

The two then hired a ride to the hospital where the victim received outpatient treatment.

Investigations are still underway.

Social media has been abuzz with news of the incident, with some claiming that residents in the area did not help the two victims when approached.
