Siti Kasim trial: No warrant needed for arrestable offence, says Jawi chief

KUALA LUMPUR: A Federal Territory Islamic Religious Department (Jawi) enforcement chief testified in a magistrate's court here that a warrant of arrest was not needed for an arrestable offence.  

The department's enforcement division assistant director Akmal Nadzim Abdullah, 45, said he and a Jawi operations enforcement officer explained this to the accused, Siti Kasim, during a raid conducted at a transgender beauty pageant event at the Renaissance Hotel in 2016.
