KUALA LUMPUR: A 56-year-old man was charged at a magistrate’s court here with the murder of his younger brother.
Lim Hock Ann appeared before judge Wong Chai Sia with a bandaged left hand on Friday (Oct 12).
Hock Ann, who works as a painter, was accused of murdering 48-year-old Lim Hock Soon in the living room of a unit at Flat Sri Murni, Jalan 1/20, Taman Sri Murni here between 4.30am and 5am on Oct 6.
The charge under Section 302 of the Penal Code carries a mandatory death sentence upon conviction.
The charge was read out to him in Mandarin. No plea was recorded.
Wong fixed Dec 12 for mention.
DPP Afiq Nazrin Zaharinan appeared for the prosecution. The accused was unrepresented.
It was reported that an argument between the two brothers over what to watch on TV took a fatal turn when the younger sibling was stabbed and killed.
The police also seized a machete and a pair of scissors from the scene.
