PETALING JAYA: A former managing director of a trading conglomerate’s subsidiary has been awarded over RM1.2mil in backwages and compensation as the Industrial Court ruled that he was unfairly dismissed when his contract was not renewed after it expired.
Chairman D. Paramalingam ruled that the company had failed to give any explanation with regards to its policy of placing employees in senior management under fixed-term employment.
