Bruising found on woman who ran up to police car

PETALING JAYA: Some bruising has been found on the woman who ran towards a police car here earlier on Thursday (Oct 11).

In the incident, which occurred around 10.15am, the 33-year old woman ran up to a police vehicle while it was stopped at a traffic light in Sri Damansara.

Investigations revealed that the victim, who is pregnant and is from Vietnam, is married to a local man. She has a four-year-old son.

"She got into a taxi in Puchong but did not tell the driver where she wanted to go. Checks on her body showed some of old as well as fresh bruising.

"However, the victim did not answer the investigating officer's questions. A translator from the Vietnamese embassy will be brought in on Friday (Oct 12)," said district OCPD Asst Comm Mohd Zani Che Din.

The case is currently being investigated under Section 323 of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing hurt.
