PETALING JAYA: Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak has questioned whether the steps being proposed to sell the assets owned by Malaysia are pawning the country's future to cover up the financial hole stemming from the government's populist moves.
The former prime minister said that by using the RM1tril debt as an excuse, the government announced that the 2019 budget would see more taxes and steps to sell the country's land and assets.
