PORT DICKSON: Umno members who are unsure who they should vote for in the Port Dickson by-election should throw their support to PAS instead, said PAS candidate Lt-Col (Rtd) Mohd Nazari Mokhtar (pic).

He said that since Umno had decided to boycott the by-election, it is best that their members support the Islamist party.

"There is no dacing (scale) symbol on that day, but they have the moon. Let us show solidarity on polling day," he said in his speech at Bandar Spring Hill on Tuesday (Oct 3) night.

The EC has set Oct 13 as polling day for the Port Dickson by-election, which will see a seven-cornered fight.

Mohd Nazari is set to go against PKR president-elect Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, former Negri Sembilan mentri besar Tan Sri Isa Samad, Anwar's ex-aide Mohd Saiful Bukhari Azlan, Stevie Chan Keng Leong, Lau Seck Yan and Kan Chee Yuen.

PAS top leadership led by party deputy president Datuk Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man attended the recently concluded Umno General Assembly.

"We do not need much support from Umno supporters, just about 15% and Insya-Allah PAS will become a representative in the Dewan Rakyat.

"If there is no scale, vote for the moon symbol," said Mohd Nazari.

Mohd Nazari claims that locals who voted for Pakatan Harapan during the last general election felt cheated when their candidate decided to resign to pave way for Anwar.

"We promise we will not abandon voters if we get elected into parliament," he said.
