Penang starts dredging rivers and clearing drains


GEORGE TOWN: With thunderclouds looming over Penang almost every night, the state is not taking any chances and has begun to dredge rivers and clear drains here.

State Works and Flood Mitigation Committee chairman Zairil Khir Johari said he approved RM1.6mil to carry out “instant emergency dredging” of several drains and rivers in the state.
