PETALING JAYA: A PKR Youth coordinator has lodged a report with the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC), alleging that a political secretary (pol-sec) of the Works Minister has been abusing his position to gain the support of local party leaders in Pahang.
Ahmad Syukri Che Ab Razak, who filed the report, said that the pol-sec had offered contracts worth RM20,000 to local leaders in Bera on Sept 1 at Rumah Harapan, Taman Merbau Bandar Triang, Pahang.
The report claimed that the aide had also told those who attended the meeting that he was going to obtain an allocation worth RM300,000 from the Housing and Local Government Ministry, and that he had to use it by the end of the month.
The report lodged by Ahmad Syukri also alleged that the pol-sec then asked each local leader to apply to the Bera parliamentary coordinator for contracts, adding that allocations from the Economic Affairs Ministry would be made available to be distributed to local leaders.
Ahmad Syukri said he decided to lodge a report because he believed that the pol-sec was making these offers to obtain support from local leaders ahead of the PKR elections.
Ahmad Syukri claimed that the pol-sec was one of the candidates for the PKR central leadership council, and was also contesting as the Bera division chief.
“That is why I believe the pol-sec has been abusing his position as a civil servant by offering goodies, in the form of projects to obtain the support of the local leaders,” read the report by Ahmad Syukri.
Ahmad Syukri had also attached pictures taken at said meeting, voice recordings and transcripts of the conversations, among others.
