PETALING JAYA: Members of civil society have welcomed the government's plans to replace the Public Complaints Bureau with the Malaysian Ombudsman, saying it is an essential move to boost public confidence in government institutions.
Yayasan Perpaduan Malaysia Board of Trustees chairman Dr Chandra Muzaffar (pic) praised the government's move, saying that the public have long called for an ombudsman (a government official appointed to receive and investigate complaints of abuses by public officials).
