PETALING JAYA: The appointment of lawyer Azhar Harun as the new Election Commission (EC) chairman must go through the parliamentary process as promised in Pakatan Harapan's election manifesto, said Umno's Khairy Jamaluddin (pic).
In welcoming Azhar's appointment as the EC chairman, Khairy expressed confidence that Azhar would be able to strengthen the electoral system and ensure free and fair elections in Malaysia.
